Transferring Music to your device manually
This is a method everyone can use, on all android devices regardless of how you keep your music on your computer, mp3 player etc.
Every Android device comes with a music player pre-installed, and there are countless third party applications available in the Google Android Market.
Step 1 - Mount your phone to your PC
For those of you brand new to Android then please Click here for the full guide on how to mount your phone on your PC. [INSERT LINK]
Plug the USB cabel into your Device and PC. Depending on what ‘Flavour’ of Android you have (e.g. HTC Sense, Moto-Blur etc) this step may vary. Either you will see a pop-up asking you to select “mass storage” or “mount” in which case you can confirm now. If nothing pops-up then drag down your notifications bar and select “mount storage” or similar then confirm.
Step 2 - Open up the drive on your PC
Once the above step is complete you can then access your phone (or SD card) on the PC. Windows users wait for the “auto” box to appear and then select explore contents, or go to My Computer and open your drive, usually letters E or F.
Linux and Mac users your drive should automatically open for you.
Step 3 - File Structure
Regardless of how old your android device is you will see there are already numerous files listed on your PC screen, directories such as “.android_secure” or “Media”.
Look to see if you have a directory labelled “MP3”, if so open this up, if not, create one.
Step 4 - Moving Files
Leaving the above window on your PC open, locate the location of the MP3’s and copy the ones you wish to move to your Android device.
Paste these files into the MP3 directory on your Android Device
Step 5 - Unmount Device
Make sure the copy has finished before attempting this step, otherwise you might find that Android says your SD card is corrupted, if this occurs then Click here for a guide on how to reformat your SD card (you may loose all content). [INSERT LINK]
It is recommended but not necessary for you to “safely remove” the drive from your pc, this can usually be achieved by right clicking on the drive on your PC then click “unmount” (Linux) or “Safely Remove” (Windows).
Once this is done you can then go back to your Device and click unmount on your device, you may have to locate this in your notifications bar.
You can then remove the USB cable.

Transfering Music from Itunes (Windows) to Android via Winamp for Android
Free Your Android is not sponsored by, or endorsing Winamp for Android for any other reason other than that it really is the most basic and hassle free way to control your music and Library which is currently in Itunes to your Android device, and can even be done “wirelessly” via the “WIFI Sync” feature
This guide will only work for Windows (Winamp is a windows only client)
Step 1 - Install Winamp for Android
Open up Android Market and search for “Winamp” then install “Winamp for Android”.
Step 2 - Change the settings
Once installed, open the app on your Device and press:

Make sure “Enable auto-mount” is unticked, as this might bother you at a later date if it is ticked (It might be unticked as default, but it is best to double check).
and then tick “Enable Wireless Sync”
If you wish you can name your device and enable other items for example Last.FM Scrobbling.
